I agree!

You probably can do a lot of the stuff that is provided in PDFBox with iText, but you will have a hell of a job because it's not iText's core business and there
are no convenience methods that allow you to do what you can do with PDFBox
in 5 lines of code (as Antoine points out). Maybe we could provide this functionality, but it's not our priority, certainly because we aren't here to compete with other tools
that already exist.
