Trying to move the origin in PDF - especially one which is top-left instead of bottom-left based involved application of a transformation matrix AND the use of 2D matrix math to make sure that all objects are properly positioned and sized. It's just a LOT of work to get right.
It's MUCH easier to just do simple math to convert from top-left to bottom-left...
