         OK.

         What are you using for viewing?   And it's OK that the user 
won't see the actual document - but instead, one that is modified?

         Correct - as to be expected.

         I would suggest doing a "form flattening" operation.  That 
will flatten the signature out of the document (as an active element) 
but leave the visual representation of the signature for viewing.
