Hello all, I have been given the assignment to make an inventory of all the people who have contributed code to iText. In return I am getting time and a dedicated server (you already know this server: http://itext.ugent.be/ ). This is a sample of what is expected from me: http://itext.ugent.be/library/source.php?file=229 Note that this sample has probably too much detail, but it gives you an impression of what I intend to do.
Although this work may seem dull and unnecessary, more and more major companies have concerns about Intellectual Propery (IP). Once we've got the list of contributors, iText will gain more credibility than it already has now. If you have contributed source code in the past, you can help me by adding a comment to each specific source file you helped writing. (Of course most of the source files will have Paulo's name on it ;-) ) Some extra info about the new site: Most of the traffic to itext.ugent.be (searchengines not included) comes from the following domains: 1: www.sourceforge.net 2: groups.google.com 3: www.quickpdf.org 4: del.icio.us 5: www.mail-archive.com Most used Google sites: 1: www.google.com 200 hits 2: www.google.co.in 36 hits 3: www.google.de 35 hits 4: www.google.es 20 hits 5: www.google.it 15 hits As for the most popular pages: the FAQ has not been online for a long time, but it is already the most popular page on the site, followed by the ToC of the book and the page with the product links. The most popular FAQ questions are: 99 hits: Can I use iText in a commercial/propriety/closed source application? 78 hits: Can I convert WORD doc-files or RTF to PDF using iText? 73 hits: Is iText really free? 73 hits: What are PDF forms? 71 hits: Can I print a PDF directly to a printer? best regards, Bruno ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
