Hello. I’ve been using Apache’s FOP to build
dynamic PDF generation utilities for several years. I’ve decided to
look for an alternative for a handful of reasons. Most recently, I’ve
gotten some complaints from a client about the size of the generated PDF.
It’s approx 600K for a two page PDF that is mostly text. (It also
has a couple of graphics (maybe 30K total) and a few fonts - although I try it
without the embedded fonts and the size doesn’t change much…) My question is – is this a characteristic of PDFs
generated by iText as well? I searched the mail archives and I noticed a
few questions about it. And if so, is it an issue with all dynamically generated
PDFs? Thanks for your time. Chris |
