What you CAN
do is fill out the form from the original PDF, flatten it, and then import the
pre-flattened pages.

Subject: [iText-questions] question about the big downside for PdfWriter.I ever sent a question to you , but get no response. Maybe I did not say the question clearly. So I re-do it:In iText Tutorial I read:PdfWriter: generates a document from scratch, but also supports importing pages from other PDF documents. There's one big downside: all interactive features of the PdfImportedPage are lost in the process (annotations, bookmarks, fields,...) if you use PdfWriter. My question is why there is such a big downside? Is that impossible or what? Or could you be so kind to point me where those codes about this downside? So is there any way avaliable to do such a task? (keep interactive features still interactive after being added by pdfImportedPage)Why I am asking such a question? Because I am facing such a tough problem:I am generating a pdf and I want to use an existing PDF as a template to be imported in it, anywhere of a page, not just a new page.
But if the existing (external) PDF has some Acro form fields, they are to be flattened.
My question is can those fillable form fileds be still fillable after beinng imported as a template.Could you give me some suggestion?Thank you very much.Tim
