I think that's not the problem.
The problem is probably that the application has no direct
access to the internet; it can only retrieve pages from
outside the local network through a proxy server.
As Paulo already said: that's not iText's problem.
It's inherent to the configuration of the original
poster's environment. It's something that can only
be solved by the local sysadmin.
