Yes and no.
Probably not the way you expect.
This is not an iText issue.
It's inherent to PDF.

Hello all,
in the Acrobat JavaScript Scripting Reference I found the property
focusRect: "Turns the focus rectangle on and off. The focus rectangle
is the faint dotted line around buttons, check boxes, radio buttons,
and signatures to indicate that the form field has the keyboard focus.
A value of true turns on the focus rectangle."
There's even an example:
app.focusRect = false; // don?t want faint dotted lines around fields
I could add this small piece of JavaScript as a JS open action of
a document, or add it as document-level JavaScript, but I was wondering
if you can set it using PDF syntax. I searched the PDF reference, but
the words "focus rectangle" only appear once (on page 652).
I thought I'd find it in the section about the catalog dictionary,
but either I've overlooked it, either it isn't there...
br,
Bruno

Hi Alan
Thank you for your reply. I also tried to add the layer using the PDFWriter
object instead of the PDFStamper, which I now know doesnt support layers. Here
is my code:
(My question below the code)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
//outFile is my concatenated file, built from individual files with layers and
ended up losing them in the concatenation, not sure why, maybe the PDFCopy
Object also doesnt support layers yet?
PdfReader reader3 = new PdfReader(outFile);
Document doc = new Document(reader3.GetPageSizeWithRotation(1));
if (File.Exists("C:\\TEST.PDF"))
File.Delete("C:\\TEST.PDF");
PdfWriter writer;
writer = PdfWriter.GetInstance(doc, (Stream)File.Open("C:\\TEST.PDF",
FileMode.Append, FileAccess.Write));
doc.Open();
PdfLayer layer = new PdfLayer("BaseLayer", writer);
BaseFont bf = BaseFont.CreateFont(BaseFont.HELVETICA, BaseFont.WINANSI,
BaseFont.NOT_EMBEDDED);
PdfContentByte cb = writer.DirectContent;
cb.BeginText();
cb.SetTextMatrix(50, 790);
cb.SetLeading(24);
cb.SetFontAndSize(bf, 18);
cb.BeginLayer(layer);
cb.NewlineShowText("write to layer");
cb.EndLayer();
cb.EndText();
doc.Close();
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The final doc ends up ONLY with the text -write to layer- but it doesnt have
the content of outfile. I am new to iText, but shouldn't the final doc have
the content of outFile because that is how reader3 and doc where opened?
Thank you
Christian Cruz

Hello,
I just recently learned of your project, iText on the
today.java.netwebiste; I noticed an error of omission on your
homepage,
found at : http://www.lowagie.com/iText/
It is in the paragraph:
You will find lots of code samples in the online tutorial iText by
Example<http://itextdocs.lowagie.com/tutorial/>,
but for a nice and simple introduction to the tool,
please [forgot_a_verb] the articles about iText that was published on the
site of PDFDev <http://www.pdfdev.com/page/articles_1/>,
AdobePress<http://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=420686&seqNum=1>and
IBM <http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/library/os-javapdf/>(Note
that the IBM article was translated into
Japanese<http://www-06.ibm.com/jp/developerworks/opensource/060419/j_os-javapdf.shtml>
Chinese <http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/cn/opensource/os-javapdf/>,
and
Korean<http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/kr/library/os-javapdf/index.html>).
More experienced iText users will certainly benefit from the article
published on O'Reilly
Network<http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2003/06/18/dynamic_files.html>
Where "[forgot_a_verb]" is located, there should possibly be a verb?
I am very excited learn more about your project, hope this helps;

Perhaps the verb is "read" ?

You're right. I changed it immediately.
Thanks! Let me know if you find more errors.
By the way: the same goes for the book;
my colleagues at work already found 2 mistakes
in the text; not typos, just things that weren't
a 100% correct (nothing crucial fortunately).
> I am very excited learn more about your project, hope this helps;
Maybe I should also mention that 2 chapters of my book
are available for free at Manning...

Hello,
Sory for not supplying all the info. But here it is
tbCoBuyer1SignaturePage5 does exist. It is a text field. The XDP was
created by using Adobe LiveCycle Designer. The adobe form is generated
by Adobe Form Server using this XDP.I am using itext1.3.6.
On a lighter note, if you tell me what excatly is not working in your
computer, I can try and diagnose it.
