In one of the mail You'll probably need more memory, see http://itext.ugent.be/library/todo.php?id=7. archives, I saw the limit mentioned as 8192 pages and the size limit is 2G. https://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=4205231 Is this limit still present in version 1.4.8 or if I just increase the memory can I merge two 5000 pages PDF files in to one 10000 pages pdf? The limit was lifted long ago. If you are using PdfCopy you should get the latest release. In the mean time I will try that. Merging one pdf with 5000 pages is taking time like 20 minutes. PdfReader with RandomAccessFileOrArray is slow. I have plans to use some caching technique but it's not for the near future.
