By the way: one of the other reasons (apart from the fact that I'm currently writing documentation) why I'm silent on the mailing list recently, is that I'm currently talking with different companies about building a company structure around iText; big companies (next week I'll be talking with some XPS guys from Microsoft) as well as small local companies (in Belgium). I'm thinking of a joint venture with an existing company that already has the manpower. Of course, this would mean that iText would have to start generating money (unless a big company like Adobe joins the project). Paulo and I agreed that iText will always be available for free under the MPL, and we're not thinking about an iText+ with extra features that are not free (that would be just childish). What would you say if we no longer made the iText.jar, except for people who pay for it (compiled in the Java version of their choice)? What would you think of a mailing list that is no longer free? Or do you want one company to compete all freelance developers out of the market? It's not a decision I'm willing to make overnight. I care for the project. Even if (and especially when) it's not appreciated by everybody. best regards, Bruno PS: Ideas are always welcome. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
