Sorry. I think you missconceived my question or I didn't find the right
explanation.
The problem is that I have to write the string "@@NUMBER1234@@" to the
PDF.
This string has to be displayed as only characters not as the equivalent
glyph expression.
I've read the example at
http://itextdocs.lowagie.com/tutorial/fonts/index.html .
But it seems that it doesn't work as i want, or i do something wrong.

I've no idea what you are talking about. I don't know your fax server
and Adobe Destiller doesn't have any secret way of encoding fonts.

The mistake is asking questions that only a psychic can answer. Maybe
you should ask the support of your fax server why it doesn't work.
