Neither am I, but I also think that the wxWindows Library License is
compatible with LGPL and MPL.

Me too. :-)

In fact I thought about writing a C++ port of iText while inspecting
iText during the last weeks. But I haven't come to a conclusion yet.

There are other efforts in writing C++ libraries for
generating/manipulating PDF like libharu or PoDoFo. But they aren't
comparable to iText in respect to richness of features and level of
abstraction.

I understand that very well. That would be my biggest concern, too, if I
started to write a C++ port, since I do such programming in my spare time.

Yes, for the time being I decided to continue to work on my own PDF
library, since I think porting the complete iText library to C++ might
be a too big task for me alone to get it done in a reasonable time frame.

I see. Certainly I add references and acknowledgments to iText if I let
iText inspire me in the further development of wxPdfDocument.

Great.

Yes. Thank you very much!
