Which version of postscript accepts your Kyocera? I'm trying to use pdftops to
drive a Xerox dp180 with docuprint, but I get a strange postscript error on the
definefont command...

The command line version for pdftops does not require X11.

As you can see from the date, 7.0.5 is a VERY OLD version. I bet that an
update would help.
Xpdf is open source (GPL), and Adobe Reader is free (as in beer).

You don't mention what version of pdf2ps you are using, nor whether you have
tried other converters such as pdftops (from Xpdf) or even Adobe Reader for
Linux...
