The license is about the *.java and *.class files.
How you jar them is IMO not subject to the license
as long as you don't remove the copyright notices
and maybe add an extra notice about the files that
are added. Otherwise people may have the impression
that the added class files are available under the
same license; especially if you call the jar iText.jar;
that would probably be confusing.

The iText toolbox is a sleeping project for the moment.
I will reactivate the project as soon as I get the word
from SUN about more tools that combine PDF Renderer and
iText. I think those projects would fit perfectly together
in the toolbox. As for ScaleAndTile3: the license of the
toolbox was changed into the MIT license which is less
strict than the iText license. There is no license problem
with ScaleAndTile3. Actually I was very happy with the
Rotary initiative. It's in line with my own 'convictions'.

(I quote the word 'convictions' because it's a word I have
from a dictionary; it sounds like a heavy word, I was
looking for a translation for the Dutch word 'overtuiging';
it's about what you believe in, but not in a religous sense.)
