Using the copy/paste terminology, I fear you don't understand that PDF isn't a format for editing documents. Every character, line, word, image,... you see in a PDF document, is 'painted' on an exact position in a page. The document doesn't know anything about text structure (unless the PDF is tagged, or unless you buy expensive OCR software). All text structure is lost, so in PDF, it is impossible to 'copy a section.' > I hope that makes sense now. Your question doesn't make sense in PDF in general, not limited to iText.
