Thanks for the response. I took a different route and generated a
certificate using Visual Studio (instead of using ones I use to have) and
voila, it worked. 

I'm not even sure where the old .pfx file I had came from. It seems to be
valid for other purposes and also worked with previous versions of
itextsharp/bouncy. Tested through signing and validation using Reader.

As I am up and running with what I had intended/needed, I am good to go ...
if you would still like me to send this non-functioning .pfx file to you for
testing, let me know.

The certificate processing is done by bouncycastle. If you can/want you
may send me the pfx file and I'll see if the problem is with the file or
boucycastle (and submit a bug report with them).
