Bruno, I'm pretty sure that you are that kind of people that constantly improve your work on the basis of self motivation.
So, just put these recommendations on your desk and give them a chance later, when you consider it is suitable. Long live to iText and it's new versions that will come on the future!!!! br -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bruno Lowagie Sent: Viernes, 15 de Febrero de 2008 02:19 a.m. To: Post all your questions about iText here Subject: Re: [iText-questions] Three recommendations to make your s/wenterprise-worthy I'm forwarding this to the mailing list to make some things clear. After all, it's your business! Honestly, I appreciate your concern, but for me it's very frustrating to get 'advice' I have heard many times before, but not the help (contributions, money,...) to allow me to follow that advice. It's not that I don't want to ameliorate iText (or business), it's just that: 1. you seem to think that iText is comparable to Eclipse. 2. you seem to think that I (Bruno Lowagie) and I alone am iText. 3. you seem to think I have the money/time to achieve the things you suggest. 4. you suggest that all other iText users have the same problems you are having. OK, I'm exaggerating, but I've said this before: I have very little time, so I'd appreciate it if you post all these suggestions you made to the mailing list and not to me personally. If you have something to say about iText, bring it to the iText community, don't say it to me alone. After all: iText is Free / Open Source Software. With or without a company, this is not going to change. So please bring your suggestions in the open, don't discuss them with me privately, unless you want to invest in the further development of this or that feature. Basically the deal is like this (and this is not a personal remark, it's true in general): unless invited, nobody should use my private e-mail address for suggestions or questions about iText. There's one exception: if you want to do business (in other words: if you don't mind receiving an invoice), then you can mail me and I'll think about it. Again: I appreciate your concern and I understand that you have nothing but the best of intentions, but right now your mail is contra productive. It may not look like that viewed from your side, but you'd understand when you looked at it from my side (I receive between the 500 and 1000 e-mails a day on this address alone; and I have many mail addresses). The time I have to spend on filtering those mails is seriously getting in the way of doing business! best regards, Bruno ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
