Thanks for the reply! 

I just wanted to create an application where people can open up pdf
documents and annotate words(which I can send to the server instead of
storing in the pdf) . Ofcourse this is the basic functionality and it has
more to it.

I am open to any technology or language or I can even develop an application
from scratch. 

If this is a very difficult task to do, then how do people create
applications which give this kind of functionality? What kind of hooks can
be possible to create these features in your app?
