I'm using iText with JDK 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 and I've never experienced this problem. You can test this yourself by running the examples with different JDKs. Of course, as Paulo pointed out a few days ago, there could be a problem, for instance if SUN changed its Graphics2D implementation (we don't know, we didn't get any further response after this answer). In any case: if there is a problem with newer JDKs, it they won't be as dramatic as the one your describe because we've never heard of that problem before (nor experienced it ourselves, and we're using iText intensively). Reading your problem, I have the impression it could be something else. For instance: you say you see the PDF window. Do you mean you are seeing blank pages? If so, you could be experiencing the "blank page" problem.
