In the first choise, and because you would have bought Reader Extensions, you 
could then use XPAAJ instead of iText, because merging (only) data with XPAAJ 
should not take the Reader enabled "thing" from your form. This would improve 
your solution because you would need to send only one time the pdf template to 
Reader Extensions.
 
Off course iText is more powerful than XPAAJ, but it doesn´t seems to be the
