While writing the book, I had a very hard time finding free fonts
I could ship with the examples. I don't know if there's a free
alternative available for Arial Unicode, but these are some links
I listed in the Appendix of the book:

A quick glance at these sites didn't reveal any free Arial Unicode
fonts, but maybe you'll find something if you have a closer look.
