You really, really need to check the fine documentation available here http://www.1t3xt.info/api/ before you post questions like this. As an additional assignment, you should: 1. Look up the version when width() became deprecated. 2. Look up the method that replaced it, and the versions in which the depecated methods were present. 3. Look up the versions in which the deprecated method was ultimately removed, i.e., no longer deprecated, starting at the first version from which it was removed. 4. Examine the source code for a version in which width() is deprecated to see how Bruno handles the presence of both the replacement method and the deprecated method in the same class. 5. Learn how to get your compiler to tell you if you're using a deprecated method. It works with the former version because it is present in that version. It does not work in the latter version because it is simply not there, having been dropped at an earlier version. I promise you, your mastery of iText will grow rapidly, if you take the time to avail your self of the extraordinary resources Bruno has provided. In short, this list is not a good place to ask questions, the answere to which you could have easily found in the online documentation. This response may, at first, seem harsh to you. Believe me, it is not. My advice is given in the friendliest of spirits, in hope you will benefit from it.
