I'm not sure, but what happens if you remove the XFA:
PdfDictionary acro =
(PdfDictionary) PdfReader.getPdfObject(
reader.getCatalog().get(PdfName.ACROFORM));
acro.remove(new PdfName("XFA"));
And then use the PDF with the XFA removed?
I haven't tested this, I'm just saying this from the
back of my (not fully awake) head.
