That's one option.
The other option is to use PdfCopy. I know that the book says that you
can't add any content to a file when you use PdfCopy, but development
of iText wasn't frozen after the book was written. Look for an example
with PageStamp and you'll find out that you can now add stuff to pages
imported with PdfCopy. (I looked, but it's 7:15 AM and I'm not thinking
clear enough yet to do a decent search.)
