That is because Acrobat 9's PDF/A Preflight feature is MUCH MORE advanced and
comprehensive than in Acrobat 8. More details are available in this document
(<http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/pdfs/readercomp_pdfa.pdf>).

Apparently either your email client or the list itself didn't like how the
attachment was encoded :(. Can you post it on a site somewhere?

Subject: [iText-questions] Adobe 9 complaining about PDF/A where as Adobe 8 not

Hi,

I am signing a PDF (Created either with Adobe 8 or 9 ) using iText sharp and
checking whether the PDF remains PDF/A compliant. Attached are some PDFs
generated with Adobe 9. When I sign and check them in Adobe 8 > Preflight,
PDF/A compliancy check is successfull. When I check these signed PDFs in
Adobe 9 > Preflight, I get errors. Any idea why this is failing and how can
this be fixed.

I get similar errors even if I create invisible signatures. No issue is
reported by Adobe 8 > Preflight.

I am attaching signed PDF as well as Adobe 9 generated reports.

Regards,
Wahaj
