I've been reading all these threads about that Pdf's as an official IRS form
(doesn't allow the extraction of information) shouldn't be used or at least
should have the user rights enabled etc or that the IRS should use other
formats to distribute their 1040 form.
Have you ever considered the following possibilities:
1. The IRS is ignorant about the features a PDF has.
2. That there are many people out there that don't have any programming
skills to create an application that would read the info of the 1040 form
and thus why bother with creating something other than just a "View Model".
People have hands so let them write the data.
3. The IRS wants the form to be that way, so that they force you to write it
by hand (an extension to the previous possibility).
Besides the 3 points I mentioned previously, it is to anybodies preference
to use whatever format the choose and like.
If it is xml, pdf, html, word doc etc., it is their choice and thus outside
of any critisism.
