Thanks Bruno!! I have been reading the mailing archives too much...and in that row forgot to refer to FAQ!!...its written in bold there!... ..well, i regret for not having referred to that earlier and trying to reinvent the wheel :)
I am using iText-2.1.4...that leaves me no way to revert the file to its previous state...any suggestions please..
