Alain: 1) What Howard means is that there is no iText roadmap *for RTF*. This is because RTF functionality is about to be moved out of iText. See several recent posts on this list regarding this move.
2) You could try generating an internal link in MS Word, saving as RTF, and examining the generated RTF. That's a good place to start for a do-it-yourself solution.
