Hi Everyone,
I'm a developer of a open source desktop mapping application MapWindow GIS (
www.mapwindow.org) We are trying to integrate layered PDF printing into our
application I discovered iText and iTextSharp and thought it might work. All
of our vector and bitmap drawing is done using GDI+ which as I've discovered
it a bit difficult to get to draw to a PDF with first turning it into a
bitmap.
I was hoping to be able to draw to an EMF and then load that into iText but
I discovered that it does not support EMF only WMF. A little while ago
(2008) David Thielen said that he had the specs for EMF and thought it
wouldn't be very hard to add support for it to iText. I was wondering if
anything had come of his efforts?
Failing that, does anyone know of a way to get GDI+ to draw into iTextSharp
or other open source .NET PDF package without converting it into bitmaps? Or
perhaps of an intermediary format I can convert a EMF into which iText can
then load into a PDF, I was looking at SVG but from what I've read the
apparently they don't play nicely with iText either.
Thanks for your help,
Brian
