What do you mean by "color images/objects"? ALL objects in a PDF have a colorspace and one or more color values associated with them.
Are you trying to determine "color" vs. "monochrome"? If so, then you first need to determine what "monochrome" means. For example, is an RGB value of [0 0 0] color or mono? What about CMYK [0 0 0 1]? And then you need to this for all 11 different ways to specify color in a PDF.
