It could be that you're getting some other exception that is being Reported 
Oddly within a server environment.

        that's a good test to try... maybe write to a local file to test, 
rather than output to the browser...  
        but i still don't understand what would cause the client browser to 
stop listening to the server. As I said, I haven't clicked on anything in the 
browser or moved from the page at all. It's the oddest thing to me.
