That very much depends on what capabilities the SDK for that token offers. Which inputs does it require, which outputs does it return? Can you query the user certificate before signing? Does the signing call expect a pre-calculated hash as input? Or a data stream? Does it return a naked encrypted hash? A PKCS#1 signature? A PKCS#7 signature container? Which algorithms does it support? ... It additionally depends on your requirements. Do you require a special kind of PDF signature? Do you need to conform to certain extended standards, e.g. do you need to create Pdf Advanced Electronix Signatures? Are time stamps required? Is inclusion of revocation information required? Do you have to adhere to Common Criteria somehow? ... There also might be some additional implications depending on the operation system and virtual machine you run on... As a starting point, look at the examples at http://itextpdf.sourceforge.net/howtosign.html. Unfortunately I can't help you in detail as I'm only using the Java version of iText.
