Hi,
1. Concatenate a few PDF files into one single PDF file. Retain their
formats or user defines new format.
Go to http://affiliate.manning.com/idevaffiliate.php?id=223_212
In the right column (titled "Downloads") you can download chapter 6 of
the book "iText in Action" for free.
Please read it, and you'll understand that what you're asking is trivial.
2. Replace or insert (string, line, and paragraph) in one existing PDF
file with the section of another PDF file. Retain their formats or
user defines new format.
Go to http://affiliate.manning.com/idevaffiliate.php?id=223_212
In the right column (titled "Downloads") you can download chapter 6 of
the book "iText in Action" for free.
Please read it, and you'll understand that what you're asking is NOT
POSSIBLE IN PDF. PDF is NOT SUITED for editing!!!
Now, I try to use API of itext.jar to resolve it.
Details as following:
I retrieve all string content in PDF files then replace part of
them, at last generate a new PDF file, but the issue is I can't retain
the format of original PDF file.
Is there any advice to resolve it?
You're trying to achieve something that is even impossible with Adobe
Acrobat! Reconsider!
If you want to change the content of a PDF, you need to change the
source that was used to create the PDF document.
