I really appreciate the support you are giving to maven and I saw another
thread
that asked my question but no answer was found.

I was thinking you could standardize you maven repository pretty simply by
using
Nexus to host the files.
http://nexus.sonatype.org/
Another option would be to just enable directory listing at the top level of
the
repository, then other nexus services (as mentioned in the linked archive
message) would be able to figure it out without proper indexing.
Lastly, if you just want to give up on hosting your own repository, you can
submit your releases to maven central:
http://www.vineetmanohar.com/2009/12/publishing-to-maven-central-repo-in-5-steps/OR
https://docs.sonatype.org/display/Repository/Uploading+3rd-party+Artifacts+to+Maven+Central
l
OR
https://docs.sonatype.org/display/Repository/Sonatype+OSS+Maven+Repository+Usage+Guide
Hopefully this will make it easier for you to support maven. I personally think
nexus is pretty easy to manage, but maybe it's not for everyone.
John.
