Hi,
I had been given a task of doing text replacement in pdf files. I googled
and found iText as a good place to start. After reading couple of chapters
and trying few example, i spent time with chapter18, Under the hood from
iText in Action and came to conclusion that iText is basically not built to
perform pdf editing like text replacement, image replacement, content
modification etc.
I also understand that to begin with iText APIs did not exist. Bruno spent
time reading the pdf specification to build the existing APIs as it is
today.
I wanted to understand that how difficult it would be to write APIs that
would edit pdfs. What all knowledge would be required.
I want to do all of this in java. I have 7+ years of java/j2ee experience.
Any suggestion/thoughts would be welcome.
