This is actually a bug introduced in iText 5.1.1. We thought we had fixed it. As a matter of fact: we fixed the problem for images, but apparently we didn't fix it for templates. You can either return to using 5.1.0, or wait for us to fix the problem in 5.1.2. (The fix should be done within the next 24 hours, but the 5.1.2 release will not be ready in the next few days.)
