Another issue is that there are MANY ways of getting a piece of A4 too. We come across InDesign, Word, and printer pages that all vary slightly so when adding stationery as a template do a bit of maths that says if either dimension is with 3 for a4 and 2 for a5 then assume it is actually the same thing. Bit of a fudge but saves lots of failed scripts
