I've been trying to figure out how hard this would be to do using low-level PDF commands, but I can't find the necessary information in the PDF specification.
There's something that says as of 1.6 OpenType fonts can be embedded and renderers can use advanced layout features, but I can't find anything that says how you would tell it what language/script/features to use.
