The error is thrown by iText ExceptionConverter, meaning it's not an exception caused by iText, but by something outside iText. The error message tells you what happens: there are "insufficient system resources". You're using a mighty old Windows version, so you may have hit a bug in Windows: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909095 Or maybe you're trying to read a file from a SAMBA share and you're hitting this configuration problem: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4938442 Without more information, we can only guess. With more information, there's a change we won't be able to help either, because it may be a problem that is related to the OS.
