Yes, it is the right thing for the Adobe Reader to show the document time
stamps as separate entries on the signature panel. Unfortunately in that
entry the time stamp very often merely is called a signature (at least in
the German localization). This automatically leads to confusion as can be
observed in Raffaele's message here (and he is a person who by profession
has to deal with signatures and time stamps which is a background most
Reader users don't have).

On the one hand PAdES is a technical specification whose wording might very
well deviate from the wording of laws and agencies who on the other hand
define legal wordings. I don't know the exact wording of the applicable EU
directives, though.

On the other hand the German Adobe Reader localization should take into
account German (and Austrian and Swiss) legal wordings, too, and at least
the German signature act and especially its interpretation by the
responsible federal agency strictly distinguishes between time stamps and
signatures.

Regards, Michael

PS: I don't know the Italian situation, maybe it considers time stamps as
special signatures, maybe not. But even in the former case, it would be
advantageous to use a wording which better prevents misunderstandings as
observed in this thread.
