Other sources I just stumbled upon do release the session in a finalizer. The version I inspected seemed to rely on PhantomReference in Session to do auto clean up. In either case that fallback clean might occur to late in your context. And it depends on your garbage collection settings and available memory anyway which isn't too predictable after all.
