Initially, I was simply adding the entire JPEG2000 code-stream (jpc) and using the iText image.scaleToFit(A4.docHeight, A4.docWidth). Does iText modify the code-stream before saving it in the PDF? Are you saying that this stores the code-stream using the scaling specified? From my non-expert understanding a JP2 compressed image can be compressed with 1 to many resolution/discard levels, in a sort of conceptual pyramid type scheme where 0=1:1 (highest resolution) through say 8 where 8=1:8 (lowest resolution). I guess what I’m asking is can/does Adobe Reader take advantage of JP2 discard levels.
