No matter if you change the source code of old iText versions or not, 
the problem described in that mail applies.
Your only workaround is to use the NEW iText 5.
If you ship the new iText 5 with a product, you need to distribute your 
product as AGPL or buy a commercial license (no matter if you change the 
source code or not).
