I am using a DRM thing that is a PITA. It prevents users from sharing the content. The business case is to encourage users to share the content, track the usage, then follow up on business leads in the company where the content is ultimately being read. Our web site (the source of the PDFs) is secured, so users can't share URLs and access the whole site. But if a paying customer downloads one PDF at a time to email to a colleague, that is a teaser we want to allow. I thought there might be a way to embed something like an tag that downloads a pixel from my server, so I could just log the IP address where the document was viewed. I would be fine with a solution that only works in Adobe Reader. -- View this message in context: http://itext-general.2136553.n4.nabble.com/Track-PDF-views-tp4633465p4634159.html Sent from the iText - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
