When you use PdfCopy the way it's done in the book (assuming the original documents are all PDF/A), at least two things are missing: 1. PdfCopy doesn't add XMP metadata, so you'll have to add this yourself. 2. PdfCopy doesn't add any Output Intents, so you'll have to add this yourself.
