I am using iText 2.7.1 to generate an unsigned digital signature field in a pdf
document. I then use Adobe Reader X (10.1.1) to view the pdf and everything
appears correct visually, but when I attempt to digitally sign the document by
clicking on the field, nothing happens. Here's my code snippet:
PdfAcroForm acroForm = pdfWriter.getAcroForm();
PdfFormField signatureField = PdfFormField.createSignature(pdfWriter);
signatureField.setWidget(new Rectangle(llx, lly, urx, ury),
PdfAnnotation.HIGHLIGHT_INVERT);
signatureField.setFieldName("Signature 1");
signatureField.setPage();
acroForm.addFormField(signatureField);
Is there something I'm leaving out that would enable Adobe Reader to digitally
sign the field with a click? Will iText 2.7.1 produce a signature field that is
compatible with Adobe Reader X?
Thanks,
-Chris
