As I have neither your smartcard nor your middleware, I cannot reproduce the
result of running your code. Therefore, please also supply a sample document
signed by your code which we then can inspect.

Looking at your code you seem to work with a pre-5.3.0 version of iText. As
you seem to be early in your development, you might want to consider
updating and using the tidied up iText security API. And you also might want
to switch from SHA1 to some more SOTA hashing algorithm.
