This sounds like a funny question, but I'm going to assume that it's meant to be a serious one. A Type 3 font is a user defined font. This means that the user can map characters to a certain 'graphical representation'. For instance. Some people create a font where 'a' corresponds with the signature of Adam Abrams, 'b' with the signature of 'Burt Brown', and so on... Others create a font where 'a' corresponds with a drawing of an 'ant', 'b' with a drawing of a 'bear',... You get the idea: Type 3 fonts are used to create 'glyphs' that don't necessarily represent letters. Now please rephrase your question. Suppose that your PDF contains a Type 3 font that is used for authographs, or animals, or any other type of items, what do you expect software that parses content for which such a font is used to return??? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Everyone hates slow websites.
