Which version of iText are you using? Maybe you're experiencing a problem
described in the changelog of iText 5.4.0:

Fix: a Chunk shouldn't have the "power" to change the properties of an Image
object. If the Image is also used in a different context, you risk unwanted
side-effects (getting the image in a different size than you expected).
