Hello,
I am new to the dynamic forms. My objective is to fill the data, which
I parse from the windows word document, into a xfa pdf form through my
C# application. Hence I will be manipulating form objects like
dropdowns, checkboxes and testboxes through my c# application(Windows
form application). It would be very helpful if there was a good
tutorial on the functions ported in itextsharp dll for XFA forms which
can be used to access/manipulate XFA form objects and methods for
manipulating them.
Asking for "The functions [sup]ported in iTextSharp" is a strange question.
You create a dynamic form using a tool like Adobe LiveCycle Designer or
Avoka Smart forms.
The easiest way to do this, is to start from an XSD that describes the
XML containing the data.
All of this is outside the scope of iText(Sharp).
What is inside the scope of iText(Sharp)?
1. Filling out an XFA form by injecting XML:
See http://itextpdf.com/examples/iia.php?id=165
For the corresponding C# example, see http://tinyurl.com/itextsharpIIA2C08
2. Flattening an XFA form that was filled out:
You can test this here: http://demo.itextsupport.com/xfademo/
This can't be done with iTextSharp alone; you need the closed source
XFAWorker to do this.
You can read more about this here: http://itextpdf.com/product/XFA_worker
This page contains links to the download page and more info.
You'll need to get a 30-day trial license if you want to experiment with
the functionality.
